Anne Hlavacka

Center Director

Anne’s areas of expertise include developing, promoting and providing business counseling services, with a special emphasis on business and strategic planning. She also thrives in business and operations management, business formation and contractual relationships, acquisitions and business succession planning and dispute resolution. She specializes in government contracts and government relations, International transactions and immigration and compliance with various federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Other areas in which Anne has great experience and knowledge include human resources, employment and diversity initiatives, regional economic development, grant writing and management and program implementation and reporting. Anne also enjoys planning, promoting and managing outreach events and activities.

Anne’s experience includes 20+ years as a lawyer with a large (200+ attorney) law firm in Milwaukee, WI. She has been Adjunct Faculty at Winona State University teaching Business Law and Entrepreneurial Law; she has also taught at American National Government at UW-La Crosse. She is the Faculty Advisor for the UW-La Crosse Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization and created the UWL Innovation Lab to foster youth entrepreneurship. She has been involved in a wide variety of community organizations, including the UW‑L Foundation; Workforce Connection, Inc.; WisTAF; Coulee Region Business Center; Governor’s Marketplace for Diverse Business Development; Wisconsin Business Finance Development Corporation; Pump House Regional Arts Center; WWBIC Rural Advisory Council; Diocese of La Crosse; and Badgerland Girl Scouts.
